Pastoral Council: Charged to reflect on the direction of the parish, including current opportunities, challenges and practical solutions. The Pastoral Council is governed by a constitution and by-laws. Membership consists of the Pastor, a Faith Formation representative and twelve lay members whose three-year terms are staggered. Pastoral Council meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month in the St. Jude Church conference room at 7:00 PM. The meetings are open to everyone.
Finance Council: Comprised of six members appointed by the Pastor. The Council's responsibility is to oversee the direction of the parish financially and to review the financial statements for the church, school and religious education. Committee responsibilities include: goal setting, budget consideration, record keeping, the promotion of financial giving, and the promotion of stewardship. In addition, the Finance Council also works to create and monitor long-term financial plans and goals, and reviews any fundraising efforts proposed. The Finance Council meets the fourth Thursday of every month in the St. Jude Church conference room.
Faith Formation Commission: Governed by a constitution and by-laws and is responsible for the total education in the parish: school, Faith Formation (religious education program), youth and adult education. The Faith Formation Commission meets on the third Monday of each month at 7:00 PM, except during July and December, in the Church Conference Room. The meetings are open to everyone.
Buildings and Grounds Committee: This subcommittee of the Pastoral Council oversees the needs of the church, school grounds and buildings, and makes all the recommendations for improvements to the Council.
Social Justice Committee: This committee meets to promote the social teachings of the Church and to coordinate programs that will guarantee justice and charity in full measure to all of God's children. The Social Justice Committee has the responsibility to enable parishioners to respond to social problems, especially those affecting the poor, the lonely, the unborn, the aged, the oppressed and minority groups.
Parish Life Committee: Plans and promotes parish coffees, receptions, potlucks, picnics and many other activities. These functions enable parish members to come together in a spirit of social sharing where we are able to strengthen our parish through hospitality, shared experiences, and friendship.
Stewardship Committee: The purpose of this committee is to permeate parish life and activity so that the faithful recognize the call to stewardship. Stewardship is: receiving God's gifts gratefully, cherishing and tending tem in a responsible and accountable manner, sharing them in justice and love with others, and returning them with increase to the Lord.
Disaster Preparedness Committee: The purpose of this group is to prepare for a disaster and response for whatever event may occur. In the event of a disaster, trained members of the parish will assist members of the parish to shelters or evacuation from the building.
